Indian Railways is set to implement future bullet train corridors on a mission mode, aiming for bundled approvals from central, state, and local authorities to accelerate project execution. This approach is expected to enhance the speed of land acquisition and right of way clearances. Officials indicated that standardization of designs across future bullet train networks will improve manufacturing supply chains for essential rolling stock and signaling equipment. Additionally, the adoption of pre-cast methods in civil works is anticipated to further expedite deployment as the country finalizes routes for seven new corridors. The bullet train projects will be prioritized for approvals, with a dedicated team working closely with local authorities to facilitate land acquisition. This initiative comes in light of delays in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor, which has seen costs rise to nearly ₹1.98 lakh crore from an initial estimate of ₹1.08 lakh crore due to land acquisition issues. The proposed corridors include routes such as Mumbai-Pune, Pune-Hyderabad, and Delhi-Varanasi.
