As summer vacations approach, Indian Railways is set to enhance travel options by introducing 908 Summer Special Trains for the peak season in 2026. From April 15 to July 15, the railways will conduct a total of 18,262 trips to accommodate the influx of travelers during school holidays and tourism periods. This initiative aims to alleviate overcrowding and improve ticket availability across the network. The Central Railway will contribute the most with 3,082 trips, followed by East Central Railway with 2,711 trips, and North Western Railway with 2,245 trips. The special trains will connect major cities, tourist spots, and high-demand intercity routes, thus enhancing nationwide connectivity. By increasing the number of available seats, Indian Railways expects to significantly reduce waiting lists, making travel smoother for passengers heading home or on vacation.
