Amritsar Commissionerate Police have arrested three individuals involved in a cross-border illegal arms supply operation. The suspects, identified as Deepak Singh alias Deepu (22), Arun Kumar alias Sabu (26), and Sukhjinder Singh alias Sukha (29), were found in possession of six pistols and cartridges. The recovered firearms included one .30-bore PX5, three .32-bore, and two .30-bore pistols. The police investigation revealed that the accused were procuring illegal weapons from Madhya Pradesh and were in contact with a smuggler based in Pakistan, who facilitated the supply through drones. The operation was active in the Majha and Doaba regions of Punjab. The police registered an FIR under Section 25 of the Arms Act at the Civil Lines Police Station in Amritsar. The arrested individuals have prior criminal records, including serious offenses such as attempt to murder and theft. Further investigations are ongoing to dismantle the entire network involved in this illegal arms trade.
