The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is taking steps to improve water supply in sectors 42, 54, 55, and 56 along Golf Course Road, where residents have faced ongoing shortages. These sectors are at the end of the distribution network and are supplied through the Sector 51 boosting station, which has a capacity of 180 million liters per day (MLD) but currently delivers only 140-145 MLD. After receiving numerous complaints, GMDA conducted an inquiry that revealed existing pipelines lack sufficient capacity and face bottlenecks. To address this, GMDA is drafting a detailed cost estimate for upgrading the pipeline network, expected to be finalized within 15 days. Following approval from CEO PC Meena, tenders will be issued for the project. Additionally, GMDA plans to hire an agency to provide water tankers to affected areas during peak summer months. Meanwhile, work on a new pipeline under the Dwarka Expressway is nearing completion, which will enhance water supply for residents from Sector 58 to Sector 80.
