The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has been directed to deploy Quick Response Teams (QRTs) at vulnerable locations to ensure public safety during the monsoon season. DS Dhesi, principal advisor for urban development in Haryana, emphasized the importance of maintaining a high alert status and readiness during heavy rainfall. To improve drainage efficiency, the GMDA and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will integrate surface drains with the master storm water drainage network, particularly along Sohna Road. Additionally, pilot projects for Micro Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) will be launched, with the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) and GMDA tasked with constructing one unit each. Dhesi also urged for the expedited tendering of key infrastructure projects, including flyovers and roads, to enhance civic services for residents. Ongoing works include the construction of a storm water drain near Tau Devi Lal Stadium, which aims to alleviate waterlogging on Medanta Road.
