Kozhikode District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh addressed concerns regarding the security of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) strongrooms in the Koyilandy and Perambra Assembly constituencies. Allegations were raised by United Democratic Front (UDF) leaders claiming that the strongrooms had been opened. However, an inquiry confirmed that there were no security breaches, with only a non-secured area being accessed. Singh stated that a letter from the Chief Electoral Officer's office corroborated the findings of no violations. To ensure a peaceful vote counting day on May 4, prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) will be enforced throughout the district. This includes restrictions on gatherings, with police monitoring celebrations and the district administration regulating firecracker use.
