Junaid admitted that he and the team had hoped for a better reception, stating, “It happens sometimes.” He also shared that his father, Aamir Khan, is still emotionally affected by the film's failure, expressing disappointment despite his experience in the industry. Junaid noted that Aamir takes such setbacks personally, especially when he believes in the film. 'Ek Din', directed by Sunil Pandey, is a romantic drama and a remake of the 2016 Thai film 'One Day', which also marked actress Sai Pallavi's Bollywood debut. The film received mixed-to-negative reviews, which likely contributed to its lackluster performance at the box office.
