Junaid noted his father, Aamir Khan, remains hopeful despite the film's poor reception, as he often becomes emotionally attached to his projects. Junaid also revealed that he will not allow Aamir to produce his future films, citing the lengthy production process associated with Aamir Khan Productions. He explained that while he values Aamir's input, he needs a more consistent output as he is just starting his career. Additionally, he addressed comments from Sai Pallavi regarding her role in the film, clarifying that she was misquoted about her performance. Directed by Sunil Pandey, Ek Din is a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day, revolving around a young man's romantic struggles.
