A massive fire broke out at a furniture market in Shahberi, Greater Noida, on Friday night, leading to the deployment of at least 10 fire tenders to control the situation. The fire began around 10:20 PM at a furniture shop within the market, which is known for its cluster of furniture warehouses and shops. Fire officials indicated that the rapid spread of the blaze was fueled by highly flammable materials present in the shops, including wood, foam, and polish chemicals. As a result, six to seven nearby shops also caught fire. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties as of late Friday night. Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire, which will be determined once the flames are fully extinguished. In response to the incident, police cordoned off the area and advised commuters to avoid the stretch along Crossings Republik road until the situation is under control. This incident adds to the alarming statistics for Gautam Budh Nagar, which has recorded 150 fire incidents this year alone, raising concerns about fire safety in the region.
