Bihar Police have arrested Rajesh Rao Sardar, a businessman from Marufganj, Patna, for making casteist slurs and issuing death threats against Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Facebook. The arrest stems from a video posted on May 20, 2026, where Sardar made objectionable comments and threatened to kill the minister. Following the video’s discovery during social media monitoring, the Gaya Cyber Police Station registered a case against him. A special team was formed to track Sardar, leading to his arrest in the Lahari Sarai police station area of Nalanda district. According to DSP Abdurrahman Danish, Sardar does not have a criminal history, and further investigations are underway to determine the motive behind his threats and whether others are involved. Authorities are also seeking technical data from Facebook to assist in the investigation.
