Greek authorities have arrested a 37-year-old Palestinian man, suspected of being a member of Hamas, on the island of Crete. The arrest, made by terror police and intelligence agents, occurred on Saturday afternoon and was based on intelligence from Cyprus. The man is accused of plotting an attack on an Israeli cruise ship scheduled to dock in Crete. He reportedly had ordered materials for the attack and had contact with other suspected terrorists. During a raid on his home in Athens, police seized mobile phones, a laptop, data storage devices, bank cards, and laboratory equipment, including chemicals that could be used for bomb-making. This incident follows recent arrests in Cyprus of other individuals linked to Hamas and bomb attacks in Jerusalem. The ongoing investigation highlights concerns about potential terrorist activities targeting Israeli interests in Europe, particularly involving cruise ships frequented by tourists.
