A tragic road accident occurred in Dumfries and Galloway on Saturday evening, resulting in the death of a 50-year-old man and serious injuries to two others. The collision, which involved a black Vauxhall Vectra and a white Citroen Dispatch, took place around 7:35 PM on the A709 road near Lochfield, Lochmaben. Emergency services responded promptly, transporting three individuals to the hospital. The driver of the Vauxhall died shortly after the incident, while the Citroen's occupants, aged 67 and 55, remain hospitalized in serious condition. Police Scotland is conducting an investigation and is urging witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward. In a separate incident in Hove, East Sussex, a 59-year-old man was struck by a vehicle after falling from a footbridge on the A27, leading to his death at the scene. Sussex Police confirmed that the incident is not being treated as suspicious and have also requested information from the public regarding this case.
