The National Testing Agency (NTA) has cancelled the NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate) 2026 exam, scheduled for May 3, 2026, due to allegations of a paper leak. In response, the Parents Association of Andhra Pradesh (PAAP) has called for a re-examination, emphasizing the need for stringent security measures to ensure integrity. PAAP president S. Narahari expressed concern that the hard work of students and parents should not be compromised by the alleged actions of the medical coaching mafia. He described matching questions from a 'guess paper' as a serious conspiracy, not just a minor irregularity. The PAAP has also urged the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the matter thoroughly and has appealed to the Supreme Court for intervention. Furthermore, they are advocating for the government to cover travel expenses for students and waive examination fees to alleviate financial burdens. The situation highlights the ongoing challenges in maintaining fairness in competitive examinations in India.
