In Devakottai, Sivaganga district, Tamil Nadu, parents staged protests for two consecutive days demanding the release of the Class X and Class XII ICSE exam results from a private school. A total of 56 students appeared for the Class X exams, while 35 students took the Class XII exams. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) released the results on April 30, but those for this specific school were withheld due to allegations of examination irregularities. Parents besieged the school, expressing concerns that requiring students to retake exams would delay their college admissions. Devakottai Sub-Collector Ayush Venkat Vats and District Education Officer Vadivel informed parents about the possibility of supplementary exams in June and suggested they could approach the High Court. When the school administration did not agree to release the existing results, parents resorted to a road blockade on Tiruppattur Road. The protests highlight the urgency of the situation, as parents argue that retaking exams could hinder their children's future educational opportunities.
