On April 19, Noida police arrested two more suspects believed to be involved in instigating a violent workers' protest that occurred on April 13. The suspects, identified as a resident of north Delhi and another from Lucknow, were arrested after being traced to Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Their arrest brings the total number of suspects apprehended to five, following earlier arrests made on April 11 and 18. The protests began on April 10 after the Haryana government announced a 35% salary increase for various categories of workers. Initially peaceful, the protest escalated into violence on April 13, resulting in extensive vandalism across more than 100 factories and the destruction of vehicles. A separate case has also been filed regarding arson at a workshop in Sector 63, where vehicles were set ablaze and staff were assaulted. Police are seeking remand for further interrogation of the suspects.
