The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will launch a hydrogen-powered shuttle bus service in the Central Vista area starting Friday. This service aims to encourage public transport usage among government employees as part of the Centre's energy-saving measures. The shuttle will connect Central Secretariat and Seva Teerth metro stations with key government offices, operating on weekdays during peak hours. Each bus can accommodate 35 passengers and is equipped with GPS tracking and CCTV for safety. Passengers can pay fares of Rs 10 and Rs 15 through various methods, including cash and digital payments. The initiative, supported by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), is part of a broader effort to promote green mobility and sustainable transport infrastructure in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has previously emphasized the importance of reducing reliance on fuel-driven vehicles amid global energy crises.
