During his recent visit to India, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi took a ride on the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), showcasing the experience in a video shared on social media. He praised the metro for being fast, affordable, and reliable, stating that it reflects the daily commuting experience of millions. Khosrowshahi booked his metro ticket through the Uber app, highlighting the integration of metro services via a partnership with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC). He expressed his vision of evolving Uber beyond cab services to include various urban transport modes, allowing commuters to switch seamlessly between them. Khosrowshahi's five-day trip also involved meetings with Indian officials, including Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, to discuss Uber's growth and investment strategies in India. Since its launch, over 10 million metro rides have been booked through Uber in India, indicating strong commuter interest.
