In a recent meeting, Delhi Home Minister Ashish Sood emphasized the need for a comprehensive firefighting master plan to enhance fire safety in the capital. He directed officials from the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) to conduct regular fire audits and modernize firefighting systems. This initiative follows Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's earlier directive for a detailed blueprint identifying vulnerable zones and recurring fire causes. Sood highlighted the importance of improving emergency response times, modernizing communication systems, and providing technical training for fire officials. He urged divisional officers to collaborate with resident welfare associations and other community groups to promote fire safety awareness through campaigns and mock drills. The plan aims to strengthen fire prevention strategies and prepare for the city's rising population density and rapid urban expansion. Officials are tasked with submitting a comprehensive Fire Fighting Master Plan that addresses these challenges over the next 3, 15, and 25 years.
