The self-enumeration phase of Census 2027 commenced on Friday in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) areas, with Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta encouraging residents to participate. The self-enumeration process allows citizens to submit their household details digitally, enhancing the accuracy of data collection. Residents can log in using their mobile number and an OTP, select their local details, and mark their house on a digital map. This initiative aims to save time and ensure accurate information for better governance. The self-enumeration period will last until May 15, 2024, after which the house-listing phase will begin and continue until July 14, 2024. Officials assured that if residents are unable to self-enumerate, enumerators will visit homes to collect necessary information, maintaining confidentiality throughout the process. Gupta emphasized the importance of precise data for effective policy-making and urged all Delhi residents to participate.
