A fire broke out at the Deflo club bar and lounge in Sector 26, Chandigarh, on Thursday evening, causing panic among diners and staff. The fire department received an emergency call at 4:42 PM and dispatched 12 fire tenders to the scene. The fire reportedly started on the first floor and quickly spread throughout the club, leading to the evacuation of six kitchen staff members and fifteen diners. Fire officer G S Multani stated that the fire was extinguished within 25 minutes, and it took an additional hour to ensure the area was safe by removing eight gas cylinders from the premises. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but initial reports suggest it may have been triggered by a short circuit or sparking from a nearby generator.
