Air India, a subsidiary of Tata Group, has entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the Indian Army to create employment opportunities for war widows (Veer Naris) and their children. The initiative aims to recruit 20 war widows and 40 children for various roles in airport operations, including customer service and ramp operations. To facilitate this, Air India SATS Airport Services Private Limited (AISATS) will provide vocational training aligned with industry needs, enhancing job readiness and socio-economic empowerment. The training will occur in 25 ASHA Schools, which support the welfare of specially abled children of soldiers and veterans. The program will cover a diverse range of disciplines, including photography, music, sports, and technical skills. P Balaji, Group Head Governance at Air India, highlighted that this collaboration reflects a shared goal of contributing to nation-building by fostering empowerment and dignity through employment opportunities.
