In a serious accident early Friday morning, a private bus traveling from Manali to Delhi overturned near Chhat Light Chowk in Zirakpur, Punjab, India, after colliding with a truck. The collision occurred on the Zirakpur-Ambala highway, leading to injuries for over 20 passengers. Reports indicate that the bus was carrying around 45 passengers when it was struck by a truck traveling towards Patiala. The impact caused the driver to lose control, resulting in the bus overturning and several passengers being thrown from their seats, while others became trapped inside. Panic ensued at the scene as passengers attempted to escape the overturned vehicle. Local authorities, including the Sadak Suraksha Force (SSF) and police, quickly arrived to conduct a rescue operation. The injured were transported to Dera Bassi civil hospital, with some seriously injured individuals later referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Sector-32 for advanced care. ASP Gazalpreet Kaur confirmed the swift response by emergency services and noted that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the accident, with legal actions to follow upon completion of the probe.
