Elon Musk's platform X has launched the Cashtags feature, designed to provide users with real-time financial data linked to stock tickers and crypto tokens. Introduced by Nikita Bier, Head of Product at X, this feature allows users to search for cashtags and view a dedicated interface displaying live price charts and related posts, enhancing the trading experience. Currently, the feature is limited to iOS users in the U.S. and Canada. Additionally, X is integrating with Wealthsimple, a leading Canadian brokerage, allowing users to execute trades directly from the app. This move is part of Musk's broader vision to transform X into an 'everything app', expanding its capabilities beyond social media to include financial services. Bier indicated that support for web and Android platforms will be introduced shortly, further broadening the feature's accessibility.
