A 23-year-old engineering student from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, has alleged that she was gang-raped by four men, including her boyfriend, Subhankar Parhi. The incident reportedly occurred about 20 days ago when the victim visited Parhi's rented accommodation in the Kaimatia area. According to police, the accused offered her sedative-laced drinks, causing her to lose consciousness. Upon regaining awareness, she claimed that she was raped and that videos of the assault were recorded. The situation escalated when the victim, along with friends, attempted to kidnap Ranjan Behera, one of the accused, to delete the videos he allegedly used to blackmail her. Following the abduction attempt, police intervened, rescuing Behera and his associate from an abandoned house in the Chhatabar area. The victim subsequently filed a complaint, leading to the arrest of the four suspects. The Bhubaneswar deputy commissioner of police, Jagmohan Meena, confirmed that investigations are ongoing regarding both the gang rape and the kidnapping attempt.
