In a remarkable political shift, the Tamil Nadu Vanniyar Katchi (TVK), led by actor Vijay, has emerged as the single largest party in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections, leading in 107 constituencies as of 8:50 PM, according to the Election Commission. This significant victory marks the end of the long-standing dominance of Dravidian parties in the state. The DMK is leading in 60 constituencies, while the AIADMK follows with 47. To establish a government, TVK must secure at least 117 seats. The party has made substantial gains in northern districts such as Chennai, Chengalpattu, and Kancheepuram, as well as in central Tamil Nadu, including Tiruchirappalli and Thanjavur. TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna attributed their success to the elimination of cash-for-votes practices and stated that the people of Tamil Nadu have delivered their verdict against the DMK. Noteworthy victories include Arjuna's win in Villivakkam by 17,302 votes and the significant upset of CM MK Stalin, who lost in Kolathur to TVK's VS Babu by 8,795 votes.
