Nayan Sadhu, a 40-year-old caretaker and priest at a Shivakali temple in Khurushkul union, was reported missing from his home in Dohazari, Chhattogram district, Bangladesh, on April 19. His body was discovered hanging from a tree three days later, raising suspicions of foul play. The Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council (BHBCUC) has strongly condemned the incident, demanding immediate action against those responsible. BHBCUC senior member Kajal Debnath expressed confusion over the motive behind the killing of a caretaker from a small temple. The police have sent the body for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death and are investigating the case following a missing person's report filed by Sadhu's wife. This tragic incident occurs amidst a backdrop of increasing communal violence in Bangladesh, with 133 reported incidents between January and March of this year.
