The Allahabad High Court's Lucknow bench has taken a firm stance against illegal encroachments surrounding the district court in Qaiserbagh, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. On May 6, justices Rajesh Singh Chauhan and Rajeev Bharti directed the district administration to provide necessary police force to the Municipal Corporation for the demolition of about 72 encroachments, which include advocates' chambers and shops. The Municipal Corporation had reported these encroachments and stated that the anti-encroachment drive is scheduled for May 12. The court also instructed the authorities to submit an action taken report by May 25, following the demolition efforts.
