Aldi is embarking on a significant refurbishment of 25 stores across Britain this summer, as part of a larger £300 million investment aimed at enhancing customer experience and promoting sustainability by 2026. The upgrades will vary by location, focusing on creating additional shopping space and introducing eco-friendly features like energy-efficient fridge doors and natural refrigerants. Selected stores will also see improvements in their bakery, health and beauty, and fresh food sections. Key locations for the refurbishments include three stores in Liverpool, as well as others in London, Aberdeen, Nottingham, and Manchester. Aldi's Managing Director, Jonathan Neale, emphasized the company's commitment to providing a better shopping experience while supporting sustainability goals. This announcement coincides with a broader investment strategy that includes a £370 million commitment to opening new stores. Additionally, grocery price inflation has moderated, with a reported increase of 3.1% in May, as consumers increasingly rely on promotional offers to manage their spending.
