On Tuesday afternoon, a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus lost control and crashed into a wedding card shop located in the busy Appa Balwant Chowk area on Bajirao Road, Pune, India. The incident took place around 3:45 PM, causing panic among workers and passersby. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the shop sustained damage, including a broken glass door and damaged furniture. The bus, operating on Route 57 from Wadgaon Budruk to Pune Railway Station, was carrying approximately 15 passengers. According to Nagesh Gaikway, a PMPML spokesperson, the driver attempted to apply the brakes near Prabhat Theatre, but they allegedly failed, leading to the crash. Inspector Arun Ghodke of Vishrambaug Police Station noted that the driver was briefly distracted while following a tanker and swerved to avoid a collision, resulting in the crash. The police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the driver, who has also been sent for a medical examination.
