A 27-year-old civil engineer from Chikkajala, Bengaluru, was allegedly attacked and robbed after being lured through the Grindr dating app. The incident occurred when the victim was called to Palanahalli Gate near Bagalur Road for a meetup. Upon arrival, he was surrounded by four men who threatened him and demanded money. They took him to an isolated area near the Canadian School in Venkatala, where one of the assailants brandished a knife and assaulted him. The gang stole approximately ₹15,000 ($180 USD) from the victim's bank account using his UPI credentials. Despite sustaining injuries to his head, neck, and abdomen, the engineer managed to contact a friend for assistance and was taken to Valence Hospital for treatment. Police have arrested four suspects identified as Darshan, Sunil, Chandan, and another associate, and a robbery case has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
