Google has expanded access to its Gemini chatbot in Chrome to users across the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. Following its initial rollout in the US and earlier availability in Canada, India, and New Zealand, this expansion allows users to engage with Gemini through the desktop browser and iOS app. Users can initiate a conversation by clicking the 'Ask Gemini' icon located at the top right of the screen, which opens a sidebar for chatting across various tabs. The Gemini suite also includes Google's image generator, Nano Banana 2, and integrates seamlessly with other Google applications, enabling users to add events to Google Calendar without leaving the interface. However, in Japan, iOS users currently do not have access to this new feature. If users prefer not to utilize Gemini, they can easily unpin it from their interface.
