The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended Saokat Molla, a former Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Trinamool Congress, as a key conspirator in the Bhangar bomb blast case in West Bengal. Molla was arrested from South 24 Parganas district following an extensive search operation, marking the fourth arrest related to this case. The NIA had previously declared him an absconder and conducted searches across Bhangar and Basanti areas. The investigation was prompted by a bomb explosion on March 19 in Dakshin Bamunia village, which resulted in one fatality and injuries to three others during the assembly of crude bombs. The Indian Secular Front (ISF) called for a probe by the NIA, which subsequently took over the investigation. Prior to Molla's arrest, the NIA had arrested Sainur Molla, the driver of the vehicle used to transport the bomb makers, and Ahidul Islam Molla, who was involved in the bomb manufacturing process and attempts to destroy evidence after the explosion.
