Marriott International has officially launched its Autograph Collection Hotels in India, beginning with the Noormahal hotel in Karnal, Haryana. This hotel, known for its extensive art collection and unique architecture, is now part of Marriott's portfolio, becoming the 235th hotel in South Asia and the 220th in India. Kiran Andicot, senior VP for South Asia, noted that despite challenges in West Asia affecting travel patterns, Marriott has not seen a slowdown in its signing activities in India, which had a record 99 deals last year, representing over 12,000 rooms. The company continues to focus on growth in the region, with plans for additional properties including the Sun-n-Sand hotel in Mumbai and a new hotel in Goa. Colonel Manbeer Choudhary, CMD of Noormahal, emphasized that this partnership with Marriott is a significant milestone for the region, blending local heritage with global hospitality standards. As Marriott approaches its 100th year, it aims to expand its footprint significantly, leveraging its global reach and the loyalty of 271 million Marriott Bonvoy members.
