As the countdown to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Kansas City begins, Crown Center is set to launch a variety of kid-friendly activities starting Memorial Day weekend. Flags representing the 48 nations participating in the tournament now adorn the plaza, creating a festive atmosphere. A standout feature is a 10-foot inflatable soccer ball, perfect for photo opportunities. From May 23, children can participate in a 'soccer darts challenge', where they can kick Velcro soccer balls at a dart board to score points. The plaza will remain open until July 12, the day after the quarterfinal match scheduled for July 11 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. In conjunction with these activities, the National WWI Museum and Memorial is preparing for the official FIFA Fan Festival, which will commence on June 11. This festival is free to the public but will limit entry to 25,000 guests, requiring a pass for admission. It’s important to note that having a pass does not guarantee entry if the festival reaches capacity, making early registration essential for interested attendees.
