Israeli basketball player Raz Adam, aged 26, tragically lost his life in a car accident on Highway 90 in the Hula Valley, located in the Galilee Panhandle, on Wednesday. Adam was driving his vehicle when the accident occurred, resulting in his untimely death. The other vehicle involved in the crash was driven by a 39-year-old man, who sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Ziv Medical Center in Safed by Magen David Adom paramedics.

Born in October 1999 in Netanya, Israel, Adam had a promising basketball career. He played for Hapoel Galil Elyon, having joined the team last year after a stint with Hapoel Tel Aviv, one of Israel's largest basketball clubs, from 2020 to 2023. Adam was also a notable player for the Israeli youth national team, competing in the FIBA U20 EuroBasket tournaments in 2018 and 2019, where he contributed to Israel's victories in both events. He played alongside Deni Avdija, who has since progressed to the NBA, playing for the Portland Trail Blazers and recently participating in the NBA All-Star Game.
