Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, has been officially recognized as a nodal center for the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee's virtual labs. This initiative allows DSMNRU students to conduct online practical experiments using simulation-based models for engineering, technology, and science. The virtual labs enable students to test scenarios, predict outcomes, and analyze behaviors without the risks or costs associated with physical experiments. Yashwant Virodai, a spokesperson for DSMNRU, highlighted that this initiative will significantly enhance the learning experience, particularly for students with disabilities. The university will provide the necessary infrastructure, including computers and internet access, to facilitate this program. Importantly, no additional fees will be charged to students for utilizing these resources, and the university is required to organize at least one workshop each semester.
