Naresh alias Bholu, a 40-year-old confectionery owner in Kurali village, Meerut district, Uttar Pradesh, was shot dead late Saturday night after a confrontation with two unidentified assailants. The incident occurred around 10 PM at his shop located on the busy Meerut–Baghpat highway. Following the altercation, the assailants shot Naresh in the head at close range before fleeing the scene. A customer later found him lying in a pool of blood and alerted the authorities. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was declared dead on arrival. Superintendent of Police (Rural) Abhijeet Kumar stated that police are analyzing CCTV footage to identify the suspects and have formed two dedicated teams to expedite the investigation. Authorities are exploring all possible motives, including personal enmity and business rivalry.
