The Uttar Pradesh Police successfully rescued a one-year-old boy named Saurabh within 48 hours of his kidnapping from a wedding ceremony in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh, on the night of April 15. The police arrested five suspects, including Khushbu, a nurse who allegedly masterminded the abduction to sell the child for ₹70,000 (approximately $840 USD). Investigations revealed that Khushbu took advantage of her position to promise forged documents for the child, abducting him while family members were engaged in wedding rituals. The police tracked the suspects using CCTV footage, leading to the arrest of the getaway driver, Munesh, and ultimately to Khushbu. The child was recovered from buyers in Agra, where an advance payment of ₹20,000 had already been made. The police have announced a cash reward of ₹50,000 for the team involved in this swift operation, and Saurabh has been reunited with his family.
