Superior Plus Corp. (TSX: SPB) has announced a strategic expansion of its subsidiary, Certarus Ltd., which specializes in mobile compressed natural gas (CNG) solutions for the growing hyperscale data center market. Certarus has recently secured multiple contracts, including a significant two-and-a-half-year agreement to supply natural gas for a hyperscale data center project in partnership with a major power generation company. This project is expected to support approximately 135 megawatts of prime power generation and is projected to generate over $300 million in revenue over its lifetime, with operations set to commence in mid-2027. Allan MacDonald, President and CEO of Superior Plus, emphasized the importance of reliable energy supply for large-scale developments like data centers, highlighting Certarus' capability to meet these demands. The company will deploy its largest fleet of 200 CNG transport trailers and proprietary high-flow pressure reduction systems to ensure consistent fuel supply. This move aligns with the increasing demand for scalable energy solutions as data centers face challenges in securing grid connections.
