H D Kumaraswamy (Union minister for heavy industries and steel) has made serious allegations against the Karnataka government, claiming it is concealing information about the health of D Sudhakar, the minister for planning and statistics, who is currently hospitalized at the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences in Bengaluru due to a lung infection. Kumaraswamy expressed concern that the government might exploit Sudhakar's vulnerable condition to commit fraud, specifically by misusing his thumb impression on official documents. He questioned the delay in disclosing Sudhakar's true health status, suggesting that such situations have been exploited in the past. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar visited Sudhakar to inquire about his condition. Kumaraswamy also linked the ongoing political tensions in Karnataka to a planned convention by the Congress party, suggesting it is aimed at securing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's position.
