Eros Innovation is pioneering India's first Large Cultural Model, known as Eros LCM, designed to address the cultural gaps in existing AI systems. This model is trained on a vast dataset of 1.5 trillion rights-cleared cultural tokens, sourced from the company's extensive media archive, which includes over 12,000 films and 100,000 characters. Unlike typical AI models that rely on Western internet data, Eros LCM aims to capture the nuances of Indian storytelling, mythology, and emotional expression. Co-Founder Ridhima Lulla emphasized that this initiative represents a significant step towards creating a sovereign cultural AI infrastructure that truly understands Indian culture. The model's development aligns with the Indian government's push for sovereign AI, ensuring that data and intellectual property remain under domestic control. Furthermore, Eros Innovation's collaboration with IIT Madras enhances its academic foundation, positioning it as a leader in the culturally contextual AI landscape.
