On Thursday, India commemorated the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, a military initiative launched in response to the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh released a documentary at the South Western Command Headquarters in Jaipur, showcasing India's evolving counter-terrorism doctrine under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The film emphasizes a 'zero tolerance' stance against terrorism, featuring powerful visuals and military accounts. Prime Minister Modi stated that India would 'identify, track and punish every terrorist and their backers,' reinforcing the message that any attack on India would provoke an overwhelming response. Singh described Operation Sindoor as a testament to India's 'whole-of-government' approach, highlighting the coordination between political leadership and military power. The documentary also underscores India's military preparedness and strategic operations, asserting that the nation will respond to provocations with 'solid strategy, strong resolve, and immense might.' The operation, initiated on May 7, 2025, aimed to dismantle terror infrastructure across the Line of Control and within Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of over 100 terrorists.
