Maharashtra, India, is set to become the first state to implement the Land Titling Act, which will come into effect in July 2023. This legislation aims to provide legal certainty to property ownership for the state's 140 million residents, making their assets globally bankable and financially recognized. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced this at the 62nd foundation day of Bharati Vidyapeeth in Pune, where he also discussed the state's Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy. Agreements worth ₹1,500 crore (approximately $180 million USD) have been signed to enhance AI education, with training programs already underway for 150,000 students. Furthermore, the state government is facilitating the delivery of essential documents free of charge to nearly 30 lakh (3 million) students under the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Revenue Campaign. Education Minister Dada Bhuse emphasized the importance of quality education for rural and economically weaker students, alongside initiatives for military training and self-defense programs for girls.
