A tragic fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday at a residential complex located at B-13, Vivek Vihar Phase-I in Shahdara, Delhi, resulting in the deaths of at least nine individuals and injuries to several others. The police received a call about the fire around 3:48 am, prompting immediate action from local authorities, including the Station House Officer and the Assistant Commissioner of Police. Firefighters arrived at the scene with 14 fire tenders and worked alongside the Delhi Disaster Management Authority to control the situation. The fire affected multiple floors of the building, and while it was brought under control by 8 am, cooling operations continued afterward. During the rescue efforts, approximately 10-15 residents were evacuated, and two individuals with minor injuries were treated at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. Unfortunately, nine others were later declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. The cause of the fire remains undetermined, and investigations are ongoing.
