Ukraine has formally requested Germany to transfer 'dozens' of additional Patriot missiles from its Bundeswehr stockpiles, as reported by Bloomberg. This request comes in response to escalating air strikes from the Russian Armed Forces, with Ukraine seeking to bolster its air defense capabilities. The proposal includes an exchange where Ukraine would provide Germany with interceptors that are expected to be produced in the future. The German government is currently reviewing this request, but no decision has been made yet. Sources indicate that a decision could be announced ahead of or during the NATO summit scheduled for July. Previously, Germany had supplied Ukraine with Patriot missiles, including an agreement reached in March by Defense Minister Boris Pistorius to send over 30 PAC-3 missiles. Furthermore, in April, Ukraine secured a significant military aid package from Germany worth €4 billion (approximately $4.6 billion), which encompasses funding for hundreds of missiles for the US-made Patriot air-defense system.
