Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari has condemned the murder of his personal assistant, Chandranath Rath, describing it as a 'premeditated murder' with political motivations tied to his recent electoral victory over West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency. Speaking at Rath's residence in Madhyamgram, Adhikari stated that the murder was a targeted operation, emphasizing that Rath was killed because of his association with him. He revealed that the postmortem indicated Rath was shot four times, suggesting the attack was intended for instant death and executed by contract killers. Adhikari asserted that the attackers had monitored Rath's movements for days prior to the shooting, highlighting the calculated nature of the crime. He expressed his commitment to support Rath's family, particularly his daughter and wife, and urged for swift justice, including the arrest of the perpetrators and the filing of a chargesheet to ensure they face capital punishment.
