The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has firmly denied any involvement in Tamil Nadu Governor RV Arlekar's decision to reject the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay's claim to form a government. Following a strong performance in the assembly elections, where TVK secured 108 seats along with 5 seats from the Congress party, Vijay's alliance still fell short of the required majority. State BJP spokesperson Narayanan Thirupathy stated that if TVK can demonstrate a majority, the Governor would constitutionally accept their proposal. He characterized the election outcome as a 'fractured verdict,' highlighting that no single party achieved an absolute majority. Thirupathy also dismissed accusations of Vijay being pressured for opposing the BJP, labeling such claims as mere political rhetoric. He reiterated that the formation of the government must occur through democratic means, reflecting the will of the electorate.
