The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a legal notice of defamation to Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, India, following his allegations that the BJP was responsible for two recent explosions in Jalandhar and Amritsar. The blasts occurred on Tuesday night, causing panic and drawing criticism towards Mann's government regarding law and order in the state. BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh stated that Mann must either provide evidence for his claims or resign, emphasizing that Mann's remarks undermine the dignity of his office. Chugh pointed out that the Punjab Police has indicated possible involvement of foreign networks, contrasting Mann's political assertions. He warned that if Mann does not retract his statements and apologize publicly within seven days, the BJP will initiate both criminal and civil legal actions against him. Mann, meanwhile, has accused the BJP of attempting to instill fear in Punjab ahead of upcoming assembly elections, suggesting that the blasts are part of the party's strategy.
