On May 2, during the wedding of renowned preacher Indurikar Maharaj's daughter in Ahilyanagar, Pune, two suspects were arrested for chain-snatching. The incident occurred during a flag-hoisting program, where an unidentified thief snatched approximately 60 grams of gold jewellery from a guest. Following the complaint, police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. Investigators identified the suspects as Sagar Suresh Kamble, 32, and Babalu alias Abdul Ibrahim Pinjari, 36, both from Shrirampur in Ahilyanagar district. They were apprehended while allegedly planning to divide the stolen items. Police recovered 11.5 grams of gold jewellery worth ₹1.49 lakh (about $1,800 USD), two mobile phones valued at ₹70,000 (about $840 USD), and a motorcycle also worth ₹70,000 from the suspects.
