In a tragic incident on the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway near Laxmangarh, Alwar district, Rajasthan, five individuals lost their lives when their car caught fire late Wednesday night. The vehicle, a CNG model, was moving when flames erupted, quickly engulfing it and trapping the passengers inside. The driver, Vinod Kumar Mehar, managed to escape but suffered 80 percent burn injuries. He was initially treated at a local health center before being transferred to Jaipur for advanced care. The victims, who included three women, a minor girl, and a man, were residents of Sheopur district in Madhya Pradesh, returning from a pilgrimage to the Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu and Kashmir. Police suspect a short circuit may have triggered the blaze, and only skeletal remains were recovered from the vehicle, which will undergo DNA testing for identification.
